We managed to apply for a UK visa this summer and got our 2-year visas last week. We have packed and are leaving for London today.
Barış admires the UK for no reason at all. We’ve always wanted to go there, but we were just too lazy to go to Stockholm to apply for the visa. I am happy that we finally did it though.
I was 8 years old when I first went to London with my family. My aunt was studying in Edinburgh University, so it was more of a visit to Scotland, but we squeezed in a few days’ trip to London. I don’t remember much from those days, but what I do remember is that London was very busy and lovely, Edinburgh was the greenest place I had ever seen, Harrods was the biggest shop I had ever been to, and lastly ‘bacon’ was the weirdest thing to eat for breakfast!
We are going to spend 4 days in London and we are very excited. I have already done some research about what to do in London and booked a tourist guide.
I am a bit worried, thinking “what if Barış does not like London much and feels disappointed?” Barış is also worried, wondering “what if I fall in love with the city?”
