This time we went to Vättlefjäll for hiking, not for camping as we did last year. The environment was completely different than in the summer. I could hardly recognise the lakes we were canoeing on. They were frozen, the leaves and bushes were gone and the weather was freezing cold. There were different tracks around the lakes with different lengths. Since we did not have much time before sunset, we picked the 6.6 km one.
The wind shields that are used for camping in summer were this time used for storing wood. Anyone who wants to light a fire to warm up or for a short time camping could use this wood.
The frozen lakes were so cool. Some people were ice skating on them. This gave us the courage to step on the lakes and take short walks. Walking was definitely easier than canoeing on the exact same lakes!
