We took the train from Kyoto and spent half a day in Osaka. It is the third largest city in Japan; very different from Kyoto, and I think it’s more like a smaller version of Tokyo.
I could only do some quick research about Osaka on the train, which said that one of the places we couldn’t miss was Dōtonbori. It is a region with nice streets that are full of restaurants, shops, cafes and music.
In the evening we went to the bay area. There Barış noticed the Tempozan Ferris Wheel, and he convinced me to take it with him. I was a bit unsure in the beginning since I have a fear of heights, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to see the city from that point of view (besides, I trust the engineering skills of Japanese people).
It was the highest Ferris wheel in the world between 1997-1999. The ride took 17 minutes, the highest point was 112 meters high. The view is definitely worth the ride, even if you are unsure at the beginning.
