We had two days left in Tokyo before we got back to Sweden. We wanted to stay in a memorable place this time, so we booked New Otani Tokyo, which is a very old and famous hotel in Tokyo. It had a beautiful garden and beautiful old rooms.
We met up with a Japanese friend that we knew from Sweden, while she was doing an exchange study. She showed us some nice streets and nice cafes around Omotesando Hills, Harajuku.
Afterwards we had one more place to see called Odaiba, which is a large artificial island in Tokyo. It was first built as a military defence territory in 1850, but today the island has parks, houses, a beach, shopping centers and entertainment areas. The view of the beach was incredible. People were playing games on the sand and having picnics. It looked like a summer town although it was forbidden to go into the sea. It is very easy to reach by train from the city center. It’s not a place that you would expect to see in Tokyo, but definitely worth seeing.
