I was planning to visit my sister since she moved to Milan in January for her master’s degree studies on product design. Finally I took a day off from work and we made a weekend trip to Milan. Barış and I have visited Milan before, so apart from the touristic trip we wanted to spend some time with Elvin.
When we arrived in the evening Elvin and her roommate Candan had prepared a delicious dinner with pasta and wine. We enjoyed the evening while eating dinner on their terrace and chatting. The next morning I visited NABA with Elvin since she had a class. Until she was done I took a walk in the city. The weather was so nice, and the old streets of the city were so beautiful. I always love to wander around a city alone.
I met Elvin around noon and she showed me her favorite places along Naviglio Grande. Then we walked to Duomo to meet Barış since he needed to work a bit in the morning. As a must-do thing in Milan we bought panzerotti from Luini and ate them on the street, just as everyone else was. You shouldn’t miss this delicious pastry if you visit Milan. Luini has the best panzerotti, and is within walking distance of Duomo.
In the afternoon we spent some time in the Brera and Moscova regions. We ran into one of Clet Abraham’s traffic signs that I mentioned before on my Florence post. Cafe Bottega was a great choice to have a break with cappuccino and some Nutella-filled bakery items. I loved being in a lively city, having so many options for cafes and restaurants, seeing loud people around (I think this is what I am missing the most in Sweden).
Milano was much better when Elvin was guiding us as a great host. Before we went to bed, we made a great plan for the next day!
