Nice was our next stop after Cannes. It is very easy to travel between these two close cities by train. When we arrived in Nice we were disappointed a bit by the area around the central station. Then we walked to the city and the seaside and discovered the beauty in it. The big square Place Masséna was very attractive. There I realized how different the south and the north of France are from each other.
It is very interesting that Nice is the second city after Paris that attracts the most tourists. Archaeological researches show that one of the oldest settlements in Europe was on this land. Nice was a part of Italy until 1890, and I am thinking that this has had an enormous effect on the city.
My favorite part of the city was the old streets, as always! These beautiful streets have their own soul, which tells you a lot about a city. We will probably come back to Nice some other time since we thought a day trip was not enough.
