On our second day in Marseille we took a train for a day trip to Cannes. The most important thing about Cannes is the film festival that has taken place since 1946. The city is small with a population of 72.000, but very lively and nice.
A walk on the shore took us to the festival building. It was hard to imagine how crowded it becomes once every year, when all world is watching the event. We continued our tour by going up to the hill Le Squet. The view of the city and the harbor was amazing!
I found Cannes cuter than Marseille. I believe one of the reasons for that is because Cannes is much smaller and compact then Marseille. Also, the commercials of the film festival makes that small city very attractive.
The old and small streets were extremely nice to walk and spend time on. We wanted to rush for the next train to Nice and so left this beautiful city behind, until some other time.
