Buckingham Palace and Museums

We kept our last day in London for two museums, a theatre show and a visit to Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace was really huge. It has 775 rooms, with 188 of them for housemaids and 19 of them are open for visitors. We didn’t enter the palace or witness the changing of the guards. We just took some pictures and walked to St. James Park for a coffee break at Inn The Park which we discovered on our first day.

Tower Bridge and Harrods

On our second day in London, the plan was to take a walk along the Thames and see Tower Bridge first. We started our tour by getting off of the tube at ‘Monument’ station at ‘The City’, which is the financial region of London. The Monument of the Great Fire was built between 1671-1677 to represent the big fire of 1666, which started at a bakery and took 3 days to be put out. It was surrounded by tall buildings, so I didn’t feel like climbing up the statue for a nice view, but it is possible to do that up 311 steps.
