I have spent the last week of my vacation in Çıralı with the family. Çıralı is a small village in a rural area near Antalya. We have been spending a week in this place every year for a long time. We always stay at the same bed and breakfast place Yavuz Hotel which is run by a family who we became friends with.
I have been in Arsuz, Iskenderun since last Saturday, where I am staying at my grandmother’s summer house by the seaside, with her and my aunt. This is the place I have spent all my summers since I was 15.
For the first time in my life, I swam in the Swedish sea.
We are having the warmest days of the year. It is around 30 C (86 F). People are extremely happy and confused. We simply cannot pursue our daily routines, because we know that if we do not appreciate the warmth now, we will regret it immensely in a few short months.
After Ko Samui, we flew to Krabi to spend a few days in Ao Nang. We preferred not to stay in Krabi, but Ao Nang instead, because we wanted to visit many other beaches and islands by boat, and it was more convenient from that location.
We spent one day in Ko Tao and Ko Nang Yuan for snorkeling. Pre-planned tours are not my favorite usually, but this time it looked more convenient than any plan we would try to make ourselves. [Read more]
After a long trip we arrived in Ko Samui. Two friends joined us at Bangkok airport, making there six of us, all ready to rock :) The climate change and jet lag are bearable so far. A new day has started here, so we are going out to discover the island and enjoy the beach soon.
Summer is beautiful! It hasn’t rained in Gothenburg for three weeks. It is sunny, warm and really nice. We are getting exhausted because we can’t help being outdoors all the time and doing all the things we are not able to do in horrible weather. We just simply cannot be indoors when it is sunny (I even found myself saying ‘it would be nice if it rains for a while, so we might finally get a break’, but then I shut myself up).
We had two days left in Tokyo before we got back to Sweden. We wanted to stay in a memorable place this time, so we booked New Otani Tokyo, which is a very old and famous hotel in Tokyo. It had a beautiful garden and beautiful old rooms.
