Zoë Bae is an illustrator and textile designer based in Seoul. Her illustrations make me feel like I am in a fairy tale or a daydream while I am looking at them. Wouldn’t they possibly be a part of your dreams as well?
Lights and shades can make cities look completely different. While I was thinking about how the same streets had an alternate feel in light and in dark, in summer and in winter I ran into these illustrations. Don’t you think you need to see a place both in the daytime and at night to reach the real soul of it with its surroundings?
I have bought this book for Barış since he is in love with Japan. I thought it was only sketches about Tokyo, but it turned out to be a well-detailed, fun story of Florent Chavouet from his six months stay in the city. The memorable regions are separated as different chapters, and every chapter starts with an illustration of the Kōban (police station) belong to that region. I highly recommend the book for Tokyo lovers. You are going to find some details that you surely ran into in Japan.
Tellkiddo is a lovely shop on Etsy where you can find many illustrated items. Besides the beautiful prints and the greeting cards, I found these paper bags very creative and useful. You can check out the shop for room decoration and nursery items.
