It is one of the most relaxing times of the year that we give a break for daily life struggles and duties. I am going to Istanbul today to spend the holiday with my family and friends. It will be so nice catching up with them, feeling the coziness of being home, eating good food, and visiting new places in the city.
I have spent a few days in Istanbul, which was enough to feel the vibes of the city. Every time I am in Istanbul, regardless of the number of days I stay, I get a feeling that I am in a flow that I have no control of. It is nice in a way that everything is happening around me and it keeps me busy, but I have to over-plan everything to manage the things I am supposed to do.
I am finally taking some days off for my summer vacation. I preferred not to do that until now, since I am going to be in Turkey, and it is extremely hot for me during July and August. As I do every year, I have been working during the summer – while all my colleagues were gone, which is pretty boring. Now though, it is time for me to disappear!
Months ago while I was planning my vacation days, I decided to squeeze in a Milan trip for this weekend, since today and tomorrow are a holiday in Sweden. This is a great opportunity to catch up with my sister. It has been a while since we last met, and she is going to be done with her studies in Milan soon.
After Ko Samui, we flew to Krabi to spend a few days in Ao Nang. We preferred not to stay in Krabi, but Ao Nang instead, because we wanted to visit many other beaches and islands by boat, and it was more convenient from that location.
After a long trip we arrived in Ko Samui. Two friends joined us at Bangkok airport, making there six of us, all ready to rock :) The climate change and jet lag are bearable so far. A new day has started here, so we are going out to discover the island and enjoy the beach soon.
We managed to apply for a UK visa this summer and got our 2-year visas last week. We have packed and are leaving for London today.
