It is one of the most relaxing times of the year that we give a break for daily life struggles and duties. I am going to Istanbul today to spend the holiday with my family and friends. It will be so nice catching up with them, feeling the coziness of being home, eating good food, and visiting new places in the city.
It is the time of the year that we can hide ourselves in cardigans and sweaters without caring what we have inside. Although that is normally the case for me, I couldn’t keep myself from matching this Marilyn Monroe top with the longline cardigan and masculine heels.
How nice it is to spend a whole day simply reveling in the city you are living in, without rushing around for anything, without running any errands, without struggling with daily problems. Just like you are a tourist in your city, but in a different way because things are not new to you. It is a much better way because it allows you see the details which you would have missed as a tourist while focusing on the bigger picture and the beauty you would miss as a local while focusing on small problems. The sunlight, which I thought would never come back again after so many dark weeks, appeared on Saturday. We took a walk in the city, did some gift shopping, had a cup of coffee and enjoyed the light. I think I can survive with the coldness of Sweden for a long while, but the darkness makes me feel very depressed during winter time. I am happy that Christmas is just around the corner and the decorations all around the city help to cheer me up a bit.
As you may know I love swimming, and I have been training myself some weekdays before work at the swimming pool near our place. I had made some attempts like buying the sports watch Garmin Swim, and also getting some tips from my swimming friends, but neither had much of an effect on my discipline.
